What Pisac is
The Pisac archaeological site crowns a hilltop at about 3,250 m, above the town of the same name (2,972 m) and the Vilcanota river. Its farming terraces trace perfect curves on the slope and are among the most recognisable images of the valley.
At the top lies the religious sector, with the Intihuatana and finely cut stonework. Down in the town we stop at the artisan market: you can shop and step into silver and jewellery workshops where they show how the pieces are made.
Pisac on our tour
On the Classic it is the second stop (9:30 AM), after the Taray viewpoint. On the VIP it is the last one (4:50 PM), before heading back to Cusco.
