What Chinchero is
Chinchero sits on the plateau between Cusco and the floor of the Sacred Valley, at 3,762 m. It is the highest point of the tour and also one of the places where Andean life is closest at hand: many families still weave as their grandmothers did.
The archaeological site combines Inca terraces and walls with a colonial church built on top of them, a layering that sums up the history of the region in one place.
Chinchero on our tour
